I love big rings and I cannot lie!

I have a passion for big rings, the bigger the better, and I have amassed quite a collection, so I thought I would photograph a few. I find jewellery photography really difficult as you cannot really capture the sparkle and beauty of a piece unless you are a professional with all the proper equipment, anyway here are my efforts!

This is a huge ring which covers two fingers, maybe not for every day! From Thailand

Unusual bullet shapped silver and orange sapphire ring from Ebay

One of my favourites, an Italian designed ring from Italy

A huge Cameo ring from Vintage Sparkles on Etsy

A Christmas gift from my brother, stunning rose quartz huge ring from Istanbul by FIGistanbul on Etsy

Beautiful chartreuse colour from Charles Winston

Took a plain black ring and added a silver and marcasite swan which was an earring

Emerald ring from Thailand

A Biba ring that my daughter Sophie bought me

Smokey Quartz ring from America

Another gift from Sophie a huge dress ring

A charity shop buy looks amazing on

German designer ring

A holiday buy from France

A Lucas Jack ring

An YSL ring

Amethyst and Marcasite Art Deco ring

Green and Gold ring from Ebay

Rose Quartz and Diamonds for my 40th birthday given to me on the QE2

Unusual baquette cut Amethyst ring from Etsy

Really beautiful Snope ring from FIGistanbul on Etsy

These are just the tip of the iceberg lol, not sure why I have such a passion for them, think I just like looking at them, or as someone once told me.....I must have been a Magpie in a previous life! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, take care, hugs, B xxxx

Summer Scent

As you know I am a perfume freak but on hot days the last thing you want is to be overpowered by heavy fragrances. I love vintage perfumes which I have used in the past because most of all they bring back happy memories but if they are discontinued they are also horridly expensive. One that I have always loved for Summer is L'eau de Monteil, no longer available in the shops, sometimes on line but even then too expensive for a fragrance you want to use everyday in the Summer. It is a wonderfully light sea breeze sort of scent, with orange and carnation giving it a little spice, almost like the fragrance of a tropical beach front garden mingled with marine spray. So, when I came across Beachy by Lilly Pulitzer which by the way I bought blind as it was a similar colour bottle and sounded from the reviews something like L'eau de Monteil. A huge bottle arrived for some silly price, I think about £20 and I absolutely love it, similar but different, it includes a salty note and I can smell a hint of sun tan lotion, it is so beautiful for a Summer's day, and I am not afraid to spritz it all over lol! So I can now keep my L'eau de Monteil for special occasions. Both have attracted lovely comments, I do like it when people notice my perfume and I thoroughly recommend both. Keep cool and fragrant and have a fabulous weekend, hugs, B xxx

Bitten by the Bug!

I have been well and truly bitten....... by the photography bug......I have always loved taking photos as for me every snap is a memory to treasure and recently my camera comes everywhere with me. We were waiting to meet my brother for lunch the other day so to kill the time I took some snaps of my daughter Sophie and her boyfriend Bryn, I loved the composition, tree hugging is one of my fav things to do ha ha! No, seriously, I love the countryside so much and each tree, and we have a lot of trees....feel like my friends, they give us their fruits, their shade, their beauty and ask nothing in return so they deserve a hug now and again. Pics taken in Tenterden, Kent, got to go I can hear the sirens coming for me lol!

A perfect day at the beach!

Don't you just love those days when everything just goes perfectly? My Daughter in law Anita and Granddaughter Jessica had one of those on Friday, we decided to drive down to Hythe which is about half an hour from us and take a picnic to the beach. The weather was glorious and the lovely thing about Hythe is that it never gets crowded and on a clear day you can see France from the beach. We park opposite The Hythe Imperial Hotel so that we can leave our stuff on the beach and pop over for an afternoon cream tea on the cool expanse of shaded lawn, best scones ever! Jess was in her element, she just loves the beach and the sea, a real little water baby. Everything was just lovely and it will be a day that we will remember as a perfect English Summer's day. Here are a few pics of the day. hope you are enjoying the glorious weather and the amazing Olypics, in my opionion the best one ever! So proud of all those amazing athletes.

Chagall Inspiration

I was so inspired by my visit to see the Marc Chagall windows and by the amazing colours of the stained glass that I made a few necklaces in the beautiful hues. The camera doesn't really capture the sparkle of the crystals or the truly magical stained glass windows but I hope you can see the beauty!

A video of the Chagall windows in Tudely Church, Kent, it's like being inside a jewel!!
