Random pics!

I thought I would post some photos I have taken over the last couple of weeks on my travels around Kent, and of course I couldn't leave out my gorgeous little Pickle, Jess!

St Mildred's at Tenterden a beautiful 12th century church, there was stunning music coming from the church so my brother and I went in and the church was empty apart from the organ player, we felt like clapping when he had finished it was so gorgeous
I thought this Jacobean memorial to a husband and wife was just so stunning (Herbert and Martha Whitfield)

We took Jessica to Tonbridge Castle and fed the Squirrels, this little or should I say large chap was so friendly then we did have chocolate (with nuts) for him!

I was sitting in the car at the level crossing at Tenterden when the 'puffa train' came through, I can actually remember travelling on these!! Showing my age!
The beautiful 13th Century Tonbridge Castle, it was a glorious day but freezing! I made some lovely pearl wedding jewellery for a customer who married here
Jess Pigeon chasing at Tonbridge Castle
I remember my son doing this, eating the stale bread that was meant for the ducks and swans!
Just hanging
Another beautiful but freezing day in the lovely town of Cranbrook
Snow a couple of weeks ago, it's snowing again as I type
Mine or yours? Jess loves playing with the cats, Lettuce is especially lovely with her
At 'Wear em Out' it certainly wore me out!
The lovely town of Tenterden
A lovely day in Whistable
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, keep warm and snug, xxx

Mutton or Lamb? The thin line between!

My friend Inge phoned me this morning, a short chat always turns into a long one, we could talk all day about all sorts of things but somehow our conversation turned to how difficult it is for us ladies of a certain age (old enough to get a free ride on the bus) to buy clothes which don't make us look like Mutton dressed as Lamb. Believe me it's a very thin line, so many shops are geared to the younger woman and for me being tall is an extra problem. Although I love ruffles and sparkles, I have learnt that the plainer more classic clothes are the answer for the woman of a certain age, and we were agreeing that it's the accessories that can bring individuality to the plainest outfit. Handbags, scarves, shoes, hats and of course jewellery can make you stand out from the crowd, for me huge jewellery is a must and I know for Inge pearls are her favourite but whatever you choose make it your signature look. Here are a few looks I love and think that women of our age or any age could wear and look classy and stylish. (Disclaimer, I do not own any of these images, if you do not want them on my blog please contact me and I will remove them)

Elegant, simple and classy

This would be my ideal Mother of the Bride outfit

Just love this look, obviously only for the super slim and would look amazing at Ascot
Sophisticated and classy, with or without the hat
I have a thing for this gorgeous type of sleeves, so feminine
Don't over do the animal print, but a bag or scarf will look fabulous
Of course you cannot get any more classic or classy than Chanel but too rich for most people's pockets, you can buy jackets which are very similar, or you can add braid around the edges for that Chanel look
Long skirt, shortish sweater and great hat all adds up to a great look for young or old....er
I adore vintage and the look is one I love
Love the boho look, toned down for us older women you can still get away with it
Layer jewellery, looks great and by the way that's my watch!!
That little black dress with pearls, timeless elegance
Personally I think older women should wear a one piece on the beach, add an amazing hat and it screams 'class'

These colours seem to suit me, longer top, slim trousers, and great accessories....sorted!

This would satisfy my love of sparkle without going over the top!

These are just a few of the looks I love, some obviously are not for every day wear but you can take an element of each look and make it your own. Let me know what your favourite looks are. Have a wonderful week and take care xxxx
