My friend Inge phoned me this morning, a short chat always turns into a long one, we could talk all day about all sorts of things but somehow our conversation turned to how difficult it is for us ladies of a certain age (old enough to get a free ride on the bus) to buy clothes which don't make us look like Mutton dressed as Lamb. Believe me it's a very thin line, so many shops are geared to the younger woman and for me being tall is an extra problem. Although I love ruffles and sparkles, I have learnt that the plainer more classic clothes are the answer for the woman of a certain age, and we were agreeing that it's the accessories that can bring individuality to the plainest outfit. Handbags, scarves, shoes, hats and of course jewellery can make you stand out from the crowd, for me huge jewellery is a must and I know for Inge pearls are her favourite but whatever you choose make it your signature look. Here are a few looks I love and think that women of our age or any age could wear and look classy and stylish.
