It was horribly hot and humid here over the weekend so all I wanted to do was to stay inside by the fan and I took the opportunity to finish a couple of projects so here they are and hope they bring a little 'sparkle' into your Monday morning! It has been almost five years since I first set eyes on the exquisite work of my dear friend Paulette. I purchased some stunning cards for my friends at Christmas from her Etsy shop, Paper Nosh, and from then on I was well and truly hooked. Most of her designs are based on the life and times of Marie Antoinette, she has loved this Queen since a child and I really think she must of been a lady of the court at Versailles in a previous life. To open an order from Paulette is literally breathtaking, the packaging......oh the packaging........is divine, and then the cards or invitations themselves.....ooooh......you will never want to send them they are so scrumptious, the color palettes and the German glass glitter.....be still my beating heart! I have even framed some of them, they are just mini works of art! Paulette creates her wonderful designs in a pink studio we dubbed The Marie Antoinette Playhouse! Her designs are her babies and you can instantly see the love and care she puts in to each and every piece, believe me you will be instantly hooked just like me!

Paulette is a wonderful friend to me, more than a friend, a Sister of the Heart, she has helped me in so many ways, sometimes she can be a bit of nag, nag, nag....hehe.....but in the nicest possible way and really she is a fountain of wisdom and knowledge and always there for me which means so much. She nagged me to start my blog, and I am enjoying it much more than I thought I would, she designed it for me and I think it has the Paulette recognizable style! I love it!

Beyond Biba!

I took this early morning photo of my Siamese kitten Biba (named after my favourite shop of all time) She is longing to go out but she is due to have her 'lady bits' attended to soon, noooo!!! We want kittens!! Anyway, just liked the way she is silhouetted in the window, the ivy is already turning red a sign of Autumn to come. misty mornings and golden light!

A small post about a BIG addiction!

Come on, now you know you are addicted to 'stuff' too.....what is it? Come on spill the beans or in my case the RINGS!!! The rings, the rings, I just have a THING for them, can't help it, they just CALL to me....whereever I go there are RINGS that have to be tried on! Mainly HUGE ones, well I feel better for getting that off my chest, yes, another addiction of mine! Someone once said to me I must have been a Magpie in a previous life, anything sparkly attracts me. I think the RING thing is because I can look at them when I am wearing them unlike necklaces or earrings which you can't see on yourself. Anyway, here is PART of my collection, I am too embarassed to show you them all lol!

Veruscha
Veruscha, supermodel of the 60s, stands out as one the greatest models of all time, I met her once in the 60s and was completley astonished by her beauty and presence, unusually tall for a model of that era she literally took my breath away. One of the most stunning women I have ever seen!

Daphne Guinness
Daphne Guinness, a fashion icon but does not follow fashion, she has a style which is completely eccentric but amazingly beautiful, a Grand Dame of  the fashion world and a complete one off!

Audrey Hepburn
Audrey Hepburn, who doesn't love Audrey? From Breakfast at Tiffany's to Charade her charm and exquisite beauty both inside and out shine through. A truly amazing humanitarian.  One of the most stylish women of all time. I can watch her films over and over and never get tired of them!

Princess Diana
Princess Diana, our very own Princess, who grew from a naive young girl into a stunning woman, a complex character with a heart of gold she was cut down in her prime. When she died it was like losing a member of my own family. I still miss her!

Grace Kelly
Princess Grace, beautiful, sophisticated and utterly gracious, another wonderful woman taken too soon, her poise and style are timeless, a true Princess.

Isabella Blow 
Isabella Blow, a complete one off, the eccentric muse to the late Alexander MeQueen, she was a style icon in the fashion industry, wonderfully unique, there will never be another Isabella, a true British Eccentric!

I wanted to know what perfume these amazing women wore, yes you know I am a perfume freak!! So, here is what I found out.

Veruscha......    Victoria's Secret Dream body lotion. She was the face of Lanvin's My Sin so perhaps she wore that too?
Daphne Guinness.......Daphne has her own perfume Daphne by Comme des Garcon. I have ordered a sample from the US, the reviews are not good so will make up my own mind when it arrives. It is bound to be very unique and an aquired taste a bit like Daphne herself! Will let you know what it's like
Audrey Hepburn........L'interdit espcially created for her by the house of Givenchy, she was Givenchy's muse and friend, Joy, Chamade
Princess Diana.........Tea Rose on her wedding day, so her! (Coincidence that I posted about it recently) 24 Faubourg, Diorissimo, Creed fragrances.......
Grace Kelly..........Fleurissimo especially created for her wedding day by the house of Creed to compliment her wedding boquet, a boquet of white flowers, I have it and it is divine!
Isabella Blow.......What else? Fracas, my signature fragrance as well. In my opinion one of the most iconic fragrances ever made by the brilliant Robert Piguet. Once you have experienced Fracas you will never forget it, or the wearer lol!
