Flashback Friday-The tradition of Afternoon Tea!

One of our great British traditions is Afternoon Tea, in my house it has always been a very special time to get together with whoever happens to be in the house at the time or to invite friends for a natter and catch up! It seems that it is making a comeback in a big way and one of the nicest things to do when you are in London or anywhere else for that matter is to make a real occasion of it. How lovely to sit down to a refreshing cuppa and some lovely dainty sandwiches, scones, and various other delightful goodies! It is so civilised and a wonderful way to take a break from a day out shopping!

Here are a few of my favourite places in London to take tea, I have visited them all over the years and can highly recommend each one.

Fortnum and Mason

The Chesterfield Chocolate Tea

The Athenaeum

The Dorchester

Tea on the beach at the Goring Hotel

The Hyatt Regency

The Chesterfield Mayfair

The Montague

The Ritz

The Lanesborough

The Milestone

The Sofital

Browns Hotel

Laduree at Harrods

This video reminds me so much of my wonderful late Mum, she always used to hum this tune when she was getting the tea ready, happy days! Don't forget to pause the music on the left hand side to listen to the video.
Have a wonderful weekend, take care, hugs, B xxx
